What kind of church is Abundant Hope?
Abundant Hope Baptist Church is part of the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia within the Southern Baptist Convention. The church body is approximately 50 members, with 100 attending each Sunday.

Where is Abundant Hope located?
We are located at 700 Willeyton Road in Gates. We are located half way between Tipps Store and the Water Tower on Willeyton Road. Our church is 7 Miles from Rt. 13 in Suffolk VA.

I'm interested in becoming a member. How can I find out more information?
All of our members are baptized, professing Christ followers, who have finished our New Members Class. Call us at 252-357-4673. We'd love to send you an information packet.

What programs does Abundant Hope offer?
Abundant Hope Offers Children’s programs, pre-teens (5th and 6th Grade), Student Ministries and Adults Ministries. Our focus is not on programs per se but on helping people grow in their walk with Jesus Christ. We want to develop fully mature disciples of Jesus Christ. We will not just add another program or ministry just to have them but we ask if each ministry or program fits with in the vision that God has given to our church for this time and to this people.

When was Abundant Hope founded?
2005 – We were a church plant started out of Southside Baptist Church in Suffolk, VA. Southside sent out 10 families to start a new church to reach the people of Gates County, NC.

Is Abundant Hope a safe church?
All of our adults that work with children (birth through 18 years old), are members of Abundant Hope for at least 6 months, apply for the position, interview with a staff member, receive a criminal background check, complete C.A.R.E. training to protect themselves and our children, and are always in a room with another adult.

What activities could I be involved in?
A sampling of activities includes Children’s Ministries, Nursery, Women’s Ministries, Outreach, Evangelism, Preteen Ministries, First Impressions, Local & International Missions

Abundant Hope Baptist Church now has Sunday Services
We are now having Sunday morning services in the church building on Willeyton Road at 9 AM for contemporary worship, children's church, etc... This is a casual dress service, so please feel free to come as you are.
